A Message from the Pastor
COULDN'T DO IT WITHOUT YOU!!!
I am blessed by notes that come to the church office
that express appreciation for special events that happen in
the church; things like special worship during Holy Week,
Easter Festival, Christmas Eve services, VBS, Greatest Gift
Journey, among MANY others. And while some of those notes
are directed to me and other staff, the truth is that this
ministry just simply could not happen without YOU!!
Beyond even the “specials,” our ministry together is
blessed by volunteer ministers almost every day of
the week! There are just too many to name individually and
in fact there are too many MINISTRIES to try to list. But
EVERY one of you is appreciated so much more than we can
express. Our congregation’s purpose is to boldly make
disciples for Jesus Christ in a welcoming community where we
graciously share our love and spiritual gifts. And the
evidence shows that there are MANY who have joined in
working out that purpose together for the work of Christ
among us. More are added to those ministries every week.
We appreciate every one of you!
In recognition of your generous offering of time and
energies, this Sunday, May 4th we want to invite you to come
to the Church Lounge between 9:30 and 10:25 or following the
second service at 11:30 for “goodies” prepared and provided
by the pastors and staff as a way of saying, “thank you”
for all you do in the ministry. There will be food and a
great place to share fellowship as you accept our thanks for
a job SO well done! You are awesome!!!
Come join us in the Church Lounge (Sacred Grounds)
on Sunday! —
Larry

Attention Kids Community Parents
Our B.I.G. idea for May is: We believe God’s presence in our
lives can completely change us.
Our Bible verse for May says: “See, everything has become
new!” 2 Corinthians 5:17
This month your children will learn about Zacchaeus,
Peter, Paul and Lydia, whose lives were changed when they
met Jesus. Help your child learn that he or she can be a
follower of Jesus, just as the people in the Bible stories
did.
Your child will hear the story of Pentecost, the birthday
of the church. They will learn that 3,000 people were
baptized and became followers of Jesus on that day. What a
great way to start the church.
The idea of the Holy Spirit may be difficult for your
child. Say, “We cannot see the wind, but we can see what the
wind does as it blows the leaves in the trees. We cannot see
it, but we know that the Holy Spirit is here to guide and
help us as we follow Jesus.”
This month our kids will also be collecting change:
CHANGE FOR CHANGE
We can be part of changing our world for the better with the
change that we sacrificially give.
STARTING MAY 25TH WE WILL BEGIN OUR
ONE ROOM SUMMER SCHEDULE: IF SEVERAL OF YOU PARENTS AND
GRANDPARENTS WOULD VOLUNTEER THEN THE ROTATION WOULD ONLY
HAPPEN ONE TIME THIS SUMMER. PLEASE CALL PASTOR CAROLYN
ASAP.
