Read through this information and pray for God's direction and the discerning of His call on your life. Choose the Ministry or Ministries where you wish to serve and are being called to make a difference. Please check on the Ministry Opportunities Menu Card all ministries where you wish to be involved, including the ones from last year that you wish to continue.

SUPPORT TEAM
001.   Create eye catching bulletin boards that communicate our children's community and events several times a year.*
002.   Help to create a welcoming community as we sponsor a Back Yard BBQ. Available areas would include hospitality, games, serve food, set-up, clean-up, advertising and organization*
003.   Spend a weekend or week at camp as a counselor or helper.
004.   Volunteer to check kids in and out of their classes. Sunday 9:15-10:30 (returning when the service is ended at 11:30).
005.   Help with a drama on a rotating basis.
006.   Be a part of a team that helps plan and/or facilitates monthly events.
007.   Help organize the children's supply closet on a rotating basis.*
008.   Take digital pictures for slide shows, projects and the Website
009.   Be a part of a team who prays for our Kidz Comjmunity*
010.   Periodically bring snacks for preschoolers.*
011.   Help with Vacation Bible School (publicity, food, drama, registration, lead, sing and much more!).
     
KIDS SUNDAY SCHOOL
Persons who can serve with a team of teachers who creatively teach Biblical principles in a small group setting on a rotation.

NURSERY
024.   Provide child care for infants - 18 months at 8:30 and/or 11:30 service.

025.   Help lead class with one other adult, 1 time every 6 weeks.*
     
SUPPORT TEAM
030.   Assist in the creation, upkeep and cleaning of the fish aquarium.*
031.   Create eye-catching bulletin boards that communicate youth ministry and youth events.*
032.   Drive youth to Sunday destinations, fellowship events, service opportunities, and/or mission trips.
033.   Provide bottles of soft drinks, sports drinks, and water to be used at any activity.*
034.   Participate and encourage participation in ministry through e-mail and FUMY Internet site.*
035.   Update and organize Volunteer Applications for youth ministry. Youth Protection Policy information, and Youth Medical Release forms.*
036.   Provide or partner with someone else to provide a complete dinner for youth at 5 p.m. on the fourth Sunday of the month before the movie.
037.   Take digital pictures and digital videos. Print pictures, create power point presentations and edit videos.
038.   Participate in the organization and implementation of prayer groups for Senior High and Junior High Youth.*
039.   Be a ministry presence with youth as they eat, worship in song, play games, listen to teaching, have discussion, or go on excursions.
040.   Provide or partner with someone else to provide light snacks for youth in the church building on Sunday evenings at 6 p.m.*
041.   Provide leadership in planning youth outings.
042.   Offer the ministry of music during worship times on Sunday evening with the musical instrument God has gifted you to play.
     
YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL
050.   Be a ministry presence and help facilitate discussion with middle school youth about the Bible, ministry, and life issues.
051.   Be a ministry presence and help facilitate discussion with high school youth about the Bible, ministry, and life issues.
     
A person who is gifted in teaching and can creatively communicate God's truth to a group of adults.
060.   Host a small group of 10-12 people in your home or at the church for a Biblically-based study.
061.   Lead/co-lead a small group of 10-12 people in a Biblically based study.
062.   Lead an adult Sunday morning Bible study.
063.   Help with the organization and set-up of our Ministry Fair.
064.   Fill in on occasion for a small group leader or Sunday school leader.
065.   Help plan events for the "18-20 something" age group.
     
OUTREACH MINISTRY
070.   Be a part of a welcoming community that reaches out with the love of Christ through Acts of Random Kindness (ARK).*
071.   Help sell certificates on Sunday Mornings in Sacred Grounds. Proceeds go to specified ministries within the church.*
072.   Provide a place of hospitality by helping to set up tables, be at the Welcome table, serve food, put away tables, and set back up for worship.
073.   Help prepare, serve and clean up for funeral dinners.
074.   Greatest Gift Journey (a.k.a. Breakfast with Santa) is a ministry focused to boldly introduce the Christmas message to children and their families that Jesus is the greatest Gift of all. Ministry Opportunities include: greeting/hospitality, breakfast set up/clean up, shepherding/animal story tellers, live nativity and publicity.
075.   Organize, cook, serve, and or give a devotional message at Hope Rescue Mission 1 time a year.
076.   Help organize, build, promote and/or walk with a float in the Memorial Day parade as we reach out to our community.
077.   Be a part of a team that discerns and helps implement mission projects in addition to supporting those who go on mission trips with money and prayer.
078.   Develop printed materials (brochures), computer graphics, posters, signage, etc. Write and send press releases for special events to encourage media coverage.
079.   Be a part of a team that prays for urgent needs and crises for the families and friends of FUMC.*
080.   Visit those in a nursing home, assisted living or those who cannot come to church.
081.   Pick up individuals who need a ride to worship and/or other church activities.
082.   Be part of a men's or women's group who comes together to support each other and minister to others. Opportunities are: salad luncheon, monthly breakfasts, devotional time and more.
083.   Pray with worship leaders in the chapel before either the 8:30 or the 10:30 worship service, or be at the door to watch time so that those in prayer know when to move into the sanctuary.*
     
MUSIC MINISTRY
090.   Join a team of people on Sunday mornings who use their gifts and talents in the way of offering anthems and responses in worship. Rehearsals are Wednesdays 7:30-8:50 p.m.
091.   Players of all ages welcome to play in worship, generally hymns, most second Sunday's of the month, Christmas Eve, and Easter.
092.   Youth and adult hand bell ringers. Intermediate level, playing in the worship services 1 time a month.
093.   Youth and adult hand bell ringers. Entry level accompanying hymns in worship 1 time a month.
094.   Play the bell tower carillon on specified occasions and/or Sunday mornings.*
     
WORSHIP
100.   Help with lighting the candles before worship.*
101.   Take flowers from the Sunday services to people in the hospital or shut-ins once every 2-3 months.*
102.   Assist pastors with set up and serving communion.*
103.   Volunteer to read Scripture during worship once every 2-3 months.*
     
AUDIO/VISUAL MINISTRY
Be a part of the Audio/Visual Worship Support Team. Training available!
110.   Help run the computer slide program during services on a rotating basis.
111.   Facilitate the distribution of DVD's and CD's of Sunday morning services to those who request them. Duplicator provided.*
112.   Assist in producing power point presentations for Sunday morning songs and/or announcements.
113.   Volunteers to run the sound board on a rotating basis.
114.   Run camera to video the Sunday morning service.
     
WELCOMING MINISTRY
Join a team who has passion for creating experiences that bring people back to our church.
120.   Be a volunteer with a smile to welcome people as they enter worship.
121.   Help make guests feel welcome on Sunday morning. Meet weekly to review guest list and make appropriate responses.
122.   Volunteers of Sacred Grounds provide a welcoming environment for fellowship, announcements, and refreshments following our services. Opportunities include: coffee preparation, decorations, pick up donuts, clean up, arrange music, organization.*
123.   Assist people in finding a seat, taking up the offering, handing out worship bulletins and counting worshippers in the congregation.
124.   Help assist at the Welcome Center, greet guests, give directions and information.
125.   Look for and "identify" guests. Greet and assist new persons in a welcoming way in worship.
     
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT TEAM
Provide support in our office. Many of these areas are flexible and can be on a rotating basis.
130.   Develop and/or design murals, posters, etc.*
131.   Change seasonal designs on bulletin boards in central hallway.*
132.   Help our crew on Wednesday mornings (8:30) tape, label, and sort The Carillon for mailing on a call as needed basis.*
133.   Help maintain and organize History and Records.*
134.   Volunteers needed to put inserts or envelopes in the Sunday worship bulletins.*
135.   Organize, sot and put away books.*
136.   Fill in on Wednesday mornings to answer the phones and door during church staff meetings (9:00-11:00). As needed basis. Also, answer phones and door in the absence of the office staff.
137.   Help with special mailings which require sorting, stuffing envelopes, labeling, stamping, bundling, etc. Usually 2 hours or less.*
     
MAINTENANCE & HOUSEKEEPING
140.   Help with projects as needed.
141.   Volunteers needed to assist in setting up for events.*
142.   Help open and close he building for special events.
143.   Volunteers for special projects.
144.   Occasionally change the outdoor sign.*
145.   Assist in heavy snow removal.
146.   Help clean the church in the spring and fall when additional cleaning is needed.
147.   Assist with spring clean up and fall leaf pick-up. Help with mowing when custodian is on vacation .
     
WEDNESDAY EVENING MINISTRIES
...a midweek renewal experience through food, fellowship, and spiritual fulfillment for people of all ages.
150.   Help make signs, flyers for tables, advertising posters, name badges, take pictures, etc.
151.   This ministry is shared by two persons each night. collect money and greet with a  smiling face.*
152.   Be a part of a team of 3 or 4 that helps clean up, wipe down tables, etc. after mealtime. 6:30-7:30*
153.   Deliver a hot meal to one or two persons in our church family who cannot get to church.*
154.   Prepare desserts at home or church. All food is purchased through the ministry budget.
155.   Help purchase food with the Mannafest budget. A list is provided and you can purchase locally.
156.   Help in dining room by refilling water pitchers, coffee, wiping down trays and float to greet and assist as needed.*
157.   Lead in preparing the meal. All food is purchased and ready to prepare.
158.   Assist in preparing the meal. All food is purchased and ready to prepare.*
159.   Use your gifts by making a warm welcoming environment with decorating the dining area. Materials will be provided.*
160.   Help with planning/organizing, making phone calls, coordinating volunteers, and record keeping.*
161.   Help set up on Tuesday or Wednesday by chopping vegetables, filling salad bar containers, wiping down tables, setting up decorations, setting out salt and pepper shakers, setting out desserts, lighting candles, preparing coffee, etc.*
162.   Be a part of a team who helps serve portions of the meal.*
163.   Welcome and direct persons in the hallway just inside the parking lot doors on Wednesday evenings.*

181.   Provide quality childcare for nursery and preschoolers. 6:00 - 7:45 p.m.
182.   Lead crafts and games on a rotating basis. 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.*
183.   Lead a Bible lesson on a rotating basis. Everything is provided. 7:00 - 7:35*
     
190.   Be a ministry presence and discussion facilitator with "Live Big" curriculum for youth in grades 6-7.
191.   Be a ministry presence and discussion facilitator in Confirmation Class with our youth in grades 8-9.
192.   Be a ministry presence, watch movie clips, and help facilitate discussion with youth in grades 10-12.
193.   Lead Bible study and prayer with senior high boys.
194.   Lead Bible study and prayer with senior high girls.

*One hour ministries are ministry opportunities that may be done in as little as an hour!
