Choose the Ministry or Ministries where you wish to serve and are being called to make a difference. Please check on the Ministry Opportunities Menu Card all ministries where you wish to be involved, including the ones from last year that you wish to continue.

Remember: One person CAN make a difference!
 
SUPPORT TEAM
001.   Create eye catching bulletin boards that communicate our children's community and events several times a year.*
002.   Spend a week at camp as a counselor or helper.
003.   Volunteer to check children in and out of their classes. (Sunday 9:15 - 11:30 am)
004.   Be a part of a team that helps plan and/or facilitates monthly events.
005.   Help organize the children's resource room.*
006.   Take digital pictures for sllide shows, projects and the Website.*
007.   Be a part of a team that prays for our Kidz Community.*
008.   Bring snacks for Sunday school on a rotating basis*
009.   Help with Vacation Bible School (publicity, food, drama, registration, lead, sing, building sets, painting and much more!)
     
KIDS SUNDAY SCHOOL
Persons who can serve with a team of leaders that creatively teach Biblical principles in a small group setting on a rotating basis.

ABANDON/AWAKEN SUPPORT TEAM
030.   Spend a week at camp as a counselor or helper.
031.   Provide drinks occasionally on Tuesday nights for students to have before and after worship.*
032.   Donate snacks occasionally on Tuesday night for students to munch on before and after worship.*
033.   Drive students to events on an as needed basis.
034.   Watch the doors and be a smiling face as students arrive.
035.   Run sound during youth group on Tuesday night.
A person who is gifted in teaching and can creatively communicate God's truth to a group of adults.
040.   Host a small group of 10-12 people in your home or at the church for a Biblically-based study.
041.   Lead/co-lead a small group of 10-12 people in a Biblically based study.
042.   Lead an adult Sunday morning Bible study.
043.   Help with the organization and set-up of our Ministry Fair.
044.   Fill in on occasion for a small group leader or Sunday school leader.
045.   Help plan events for the "18-20 something" age group.
     
OUTREACH MINISTRY
050.   Help sell certificates on Sunday mornings in Sacred Grounds. Proceeds go to specified ministries within the church.*
051.   Help share the Easter story by setting up rooms, crafts, egg hunt or hospitality.
052.   Provide a place of hospitality for the Craft Fair by helping to set up tables, be at the welcome table, serve food, put away tables, and set back up for worship.
053.   Help prepare, serve and clean up for funeral dinners.
054.   Greatest Gift Journey is a ministry focused to boldly introduce the Christmas message to children and their families that Jesus is the greatest Gift of all. Ministry Opportunities include: greeting/hospitality, set up/clean up, shepherding/animal story tellers, live nativity and publicity.
055.   Be a part of a team to cook, serve, and/or give a devotional message at Hope Ministries one time a year.
056.   Help organize, build, promote and/or walk with a float in the Memorial Day parade as we reach out into our community.
057.   Be a part of a team that discerns and helps implement mission projects in addition to supporting those who go on mission trips with funding and prayer.
058.   Develop printed materials (brochures), computer graphics, posters, signage, etc. Write and send press releases for special events to encourage media coverage.
059.   Be a part of a team that prays for urgent needs and crises for the families and friends of FUMC.*
060.   People who make shawls for those who are in need of a special gift of love and prayer. Knit/crochet at home or with the group. Deliver shawls or give financially for others to purchase yard OR learn to knit/crochet.
061.   Visit those in a nursing home, assisted living or those who cannot come to church.
062.   Help create a community event that welcomes others prior to VBS. (serve food, supervise games, set up, take down, VBS registration or hospitality).
063.   Pick up individuals who need a ride to worship and/or other church activities.
064.   Be part of a women's group that comes together to support each other and minister to others. Opportunities are: salad luncheon, monthly breakfasts, devotional time and more.
065.   Help set up, purchase candy or give out materials at Potawatomi Zoo in October for Zooboo.
066. & 067.   Be a part of a team that works together rebuilding homes and lives. (cleaning, painting, electrical, carpentry etc.)
     
MUSIC MINISTRY
070.   Join a team of people on Sunday mornings who use their gifts and talents by offering anthems and responses in worship. Rehearsals are Wednesdays 7:30-8:50 p.m.
071.   Players of all ages and skill levels will play in worship on All Saints Sunday, Christmas Eve, Easter, and Pentecost. Rehearsals will be after the second service two or three Sundays before each of the above special occasions.
072.   Youth and adult handbell ringers of intermediate to skilled level will play in Sunday worship twice before New Year and twice after. In addition, the bells will play for Christmas and Easter.
     
WORSHIP
080..   Help with lighting the candles for worship.*
081.   Take flowers from the Sunday services to people in the hospital or shut-ins once every 2-3 months.*
082.   Assist pastors with set up and serving communion.
083.   Volunteer to read in various places during worship once every 2-3 months.*
     
AUDIO/VISUAL MINISTRY
Be a part of the Audio/Visual Worship Support Team. Training available!
090..   Help run the computer slide program during services on a rotating basis.
091.   Assist in producing power point presentations for Sunday morning songs and/or announcements.
092.   Volunteers to run the sound board on a rotating basis.
093.   Run camera to video for the Sunday morning service.
     
WELCOMING MINISTRY
Join a team that has passion for creating experiences that bring people back to our church.
100.   Be a volunteer with a smile to welcome people as they enter worship.*
101.   Help make guests feel welcome on Sunday morning. Meet weekly to review guest list and make appropriate responses.
102.   Provide assistance as people enter from the parking lot, using umbrellas on rainy days.
103.   Volunteers of Sacred Grounds provide a welcoming environment for fellowship, announcements and refreshments following our services. Opportunities include: coffee preparation, decorations, pick up donuts, clean up, arrange music, organization.*
104.   Assist people in finding a seat, taking up the offering, handing out worship bulletins and counting worshippers in the congregation.*
105.   Help assist at the Welcome Center, greet guests, give directions and information.*
106.   Look for and "identify" guests. Greet and assist new persons in a welcoming way in worship.*
     
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT TEAM
Provide support in our office. Many of these areas are flexible and can be on a rotating basis.
110.   Develop and/or design murals, posters, etc.*
111.   Change seasonal designs on bulletin boards in central hallway.*
112.   Help our crew on Wednesday mornings (8:30) tape, label, and sort The Carillon for mailing.
113.   Use your gifts to create graphics for layouts and publications.
114.   Help maintain and organize History and Records.
115.   Volunteers needed to put inserts/or envelopes in the Sunday worship bulletins.*
116.   Organize, sort and put away books.*
117.   Fill in on Wednesday mornings to answer the phones and door during church staff meetings (9:00 - 11:00). As needed basis. Also, answer phones and door in the absence of the office staff.
118.   Help with special mailings which require help in sorting, stuffing envelopes, labeling, stamping, bundling, etc. Usually 2 hours or less.*
119.   Help install and maintain computer software.
     
MAINTENANCE & HOUSEKEEPING
130.   Help with projects as needed.
131.   Assist in setting up for events.*
132.   Paint areas as needed.
133.   Occasionally change the outdoor sign.*
134.   Assist in heavy snow removal.
135.   Help clean the church in the spring and fall when additional cleaning is needed.
136.   Assist with spring clean up and fall leaf pick-up. Help with mowing when custodian is on vacation.
137.   Use truck on occasion for special needs.
     
WEDNESDAY EVENING MINISTRIES
...a midweek renewal experience through food, fellowship, and spiritual fulfillment for people of all ages.
140.   This ministry is shared by two persons each night. Collect money and greet with a smiling face.*
141.   Be a part of a team of 3 or 4 that helps clean up, wipe down tables, etc. after mealtime. 6:30-7:30*
142.   Prepare desserts at home or church. All food is purchased through the ministry budget.
143.   Help purchase food with the Mannafest budget. A list is provided and you can purchase locally.
144.   Help in dining room by refilling water pitchers, coffee, wiping down trays and float to greet and assist as needed.*
145. & 146.   Lead or assist in preparing the meal. All food is purchased and ready to prepare.
147.   Use your gifts by making a warm welcoming environment with decorating the dining area. Materials will be provided.
148.   Help set up on Tuesday or Wednesday by chopping vegetables, filling salad bar containers, wiping down tables, setting up decorations, setting out salt and pepper shakers, setting out desserts, lighting candles, preparing coffee, etc.
149.   Be a part of a team who helps serve portions of the meal.*
150.   Welcome and direct persons in the hallway just inside the parking lot doors on Wednesday evenings.*
     

A person who is gifted in teaching and can creatively communicate God's truth to a group of adults.
160.   Lead a small group of 10-12 people at the church. 6:30 - 7:45 p.m. Subject varies.
161.   Lead a six week class at the church on various subjects. 6:30 - 7:45 p.m.
     
170.   Volunteer to check children in and out of their classrooms. Wednesday 6:00 - 7:45 p.m.*
171.   Provide quality childcare for nursery and preschoolers. 6:00 - 7:45 p.m.
172.   Lead crafts and games on a rotating basis. 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.*
173.   Lead a Bible lesson, everything is provided, 7:00-7:45 on a rotating basis.

*One hour ministries are ministry opportunities that may be done in as little as an hour!
